The first day of school- when you hear those words what comes to mind? Happy? Sad? Nervous? Anxious? Big Smiles? New Clothes? Friends? Teacher? School? So many different emotions and thoughts on that big day. I always make the day special with a sign for before school and a special first day snack because they always come home hungry. My kids come home like hungry hungry hippos everyday after school. For those First Day memories, I created this simple school scrapbook layout that’s so easy to make and only uses 3 pieces of scrapbook paper. Remember like with all of my templates, you can use this design with any kind of paper and any kind of photo.
I thought it would be a fun thing to start doing “scrapbook page facts” that gives a quick rundown of the page before getting started.
Simple Scrapbook Page Facts:
Uses 3 sheets of paper & a zip strip
All you need is paper, a paper trimmer, and glue
Holds three 4×6 photos (2 portrait & 1 landscape)
Takes about 15 Minutes to Make
Are you ready to get started and make this one of kind scrapbook layout? On this scrapbook page, I’m using the CTMH Smarty Pants Patterned Paper + Sticker Sheet and the coordinating card stock. I love that someone has already matched the paper for me and I just get to scrapbook.
Happy & Simple School Scrapbook Layout
Start by choosing the card stock base. The card stock base for this page is lemonade.
Cut the large rectangle for the top and glue it to the lemonade base.
All of the CTMH patterned paper comes with zip strips on the top that are decorative strips that are .5×12 that match the paper collection. Add the zip strip to the bottom of the large rectangle.
Now it’s time to add the photos or the photo place holders. Sometimes when you are working on a page, you realize it needs something. When I went to add the photos, I decided the photo at the top needed a mat. Using nectarine card stock, I made a photo mat.
The next step is to decorate the page. To do this I used the Smarty Pants Picture My Life Cards which is one of my favorite ways to decorate scrapbook layouts. These cards are perfect for first day of school photos or any school days memories.
Remember to use 3D foam dots for depth and dimension on your page. A scrapbook tip is to layer the cards to create a new look, just like I did on this page with the rainbow striped card and the first day of school card.
Also the Picture My Life Cards always have journaling cards in them. I love them because it makes journaling so easy and they have lines. Seriously I can’t write straight at all. I also added on a mat to the journaling card too using the nectarine card stock.
That’s it and your simple school scrapbook layout is done. Download the scrapbook template today to add it to your collection and use it anytime to create a new page. You probably will also enjoy these 3 easy kids scrapbook pages with sketches too.
